IMHO the best RS (but not the rarest despite what the advert says), therefore the greatest 911 roadcar and therefore the greatest driver's car ever period:

What's it worth?

I saw a red 2.7RS on Sunday on MacRobertson Bridge, Toorak. Could it be real?

I'd say around 800k GBP.

There's a white one being driven around Margaret River regularly. Not in the best condition though.
You make something idiotproof, they'll make a better idiot.

Would be looking over 1 million pounds, probably around 1.2 million given the colour and low mileage. A friend of mine owns the white Aus-delivered one.

Could be real, there was a red one but it was LHD.

Based on what?

http://www.rmsothebys.com/am17/amelia-island/lots/1974-porsche-911-carrera-rs-30/1701913 based my estimate comparing to that but re-evaluating I think maybe 900k-1m for the UK car, can't see 1.2 for it though personally.

What does that result convert to in UK pounds?
Which do you think is the more desirable and rarer example?
Have stronger results for blue-chip Porsche 911s been achieved in Europe or the USA recently?
Are the best events that these cars are eligible for occuring in Europe or the USA?

I'd love to drive one to see what all the fuss is about. Old air cooled 911's that I have driven just feel weird to me  *shrug*

They made a lot less 3.0 RS' so I reckon that's got to be worth a bit more than a 2.7

I know the Dave Withers 2.7RS  sold for early 1s from memory about 2 years ago.

I just remembered the other Mexico Blue 3.0 RS 9114609090 was for sale recently too. Article on that particular car:
