The only reason why the police would have checked it is to make the "pick-up" appear to be in the line of duty.  That way they can get the name and number for further "follow up" enquiries.

I'm interested in the opinions on the use and success of radar detectors. Do you have thoughts and experiences to share?

I've considered purchasing one but have never been sure on the laws and regulations surrounding their use and gather these vary from state to state. They appear to be easily purchased and aren't the items you would once have had to source from the US.

They are best unless you want to drive in the speed limits. It depends on your cost, cheaper ones usually aren't that good doing their job. But valentine one & escort max 360 are the top ones you should go for if you have a budget. They work on multiple bands and have less false alarms compared to other detectors.
