its interesting how similar all those lap times are
some cars I would expect to be significantly quicker, are less than a second quicker

It's a very short circuit, so you're never going to see any huge differentiation.

Holy crap - he dominates!

Im guessing the drivers listed were hired by Wheels Magazine to get the lap time for the article on that particular car. Warren gets hired the most....

What a great way to make a living, thrashing new cars around a track........ they probably only bother doing a track day with something reasonably sporty as well, so its a tuff job, but someones gotta do it.

The test was in December 2005 on an outgoing model and then 4 years later they do the Boxster. Who knows how old or what specs that was.

The Track was re-opened in Jan 2008 after resurfacing so the times could reflect that as well. The BMW time was done in 2005 and the Boxster was 2009.

heres a quote that Ash used back in Jan 2008.

Of course, the track is less bumpy. It is also now effectively wider in parts and some of the ripple strips aren't as high. This has altered some of the lines, especially the exit to turn 2 and through the horseshoe.

Gary Willmington took one of his V8s out and was immediately almost 2 secs/lap quicker. My mate went out on clagged tyres and beat his previous PB on those tyres by almost a second.
