Great pics - I love the "Crowds" one particularly.  The setting sun makes it.

Looked well supported with say 15 - 20 cars.

15-20 I rate as poorly supported.  Not Octagon's fault - Porsche did all they could to keep it a secret.  But maybe the event organisers wouldn't have wanted the touring categories to outnumber the competitors anyway.

Good to see forum member Trex rally doing well.

Thanks very much!
This was the first time I have done this event having sat on the sidelines for too long without the right car.
I built my RS specifically for this event. We trialled it in Classic Tasmania in February and it was awful but learned what we had to get right.
These cars are difficult but extremely rewarding to drive. There are few modern cars which can match their speed and reliability.
Mine is very basic running period engine (capacity increased to 3.4) and just 98 RON fuel, period 5 speed 915 gearbox, non-adjustable Bilsteins. It would be nice if I had the $ to upspec it somewhere even near Kevin Weeks' car but alas I don't and never will.
The event was fantastic and I would highly recommend to anyone who was sitting back this year waiting to see how it went to jump aboard for the next one. The biggest chunk of the field missing this year was the Thoroughbreds from the earlier event - exotic road cars of all ages with no roll cages and which are speed limited to 130kph. The event catered for these cars in the Regularity category but it was not well subscribed. It would be good to give the organisers feedback as to why this was the case. Is it because the "Regularity" aspect (a competition to get the lowest penalties by working to an average speed) turned people off who just wanted a run? Is it because the Regularity competitors had to wear race suits and that was an additional expense?

Few shots from the last stage on Saturday on Gorge Road. Was a lovely day.
