A Battery of Batteries for 360
The battery in my 360 died a slow death, finally coughing it's last start the other morning - probably due to the cold weather. So I spent some time researching the market and the many batteries out there. I needed adequate power, a reasonable price and importantly the correct size - as I didn't want to spend time altering the hold down straps and mounting plate etc. So I carried my original Bosche battery around a number of shops as a size comparison.
Prices ranged from as cheap as $120 (scarily poor battery though) to some very advanced ones reaching $400.  There were a few good batteries that simply wouldn't fit, or would require modifications to the mounting straps etc
In short, the one I settled for and was the best value for money and easy to fit was a Century Battery (DIN 65 LH). This has 660 CCA and was the correct size so it simply bolted straight in very easily.  An unexpected bonus was that there are also an Australian made battery (Oi Oi Oi). They cost $190-$200.
If your 360 or 430 battery dies - hopefully this post may save you some time.

where's the vent/drain pipe...??

without it, the acid fumes will/potentially will get into the car interior.

They must be vented to the ground via the original (or replaced) vent pipe.

If the alternator fails (it will eventually), and goes to overcharge (reasonably rare, but common enough to take precautions over), you'll very suddenly. and expensively, realise why...

Good point and thanks - the vent hole is connected via a plastic elbow joint and small tube behind the positive terminal.
