Did lots of pondering on this. The problem is that to do any kind of useful project, you'd end up spending a lot of money to find any missing bits - then you'd give up and hot-rod in other parts ... then you'd wonder why you spent so much money on the shell.

Definitely one for someone who wants a neat thing to hang on the wall of the den.
C'mon, do it!

I just remembered that there is a thread on F-Chat about a Hot Rod 250 GTE. Can't remember all the details though; but I am sure a search would locate it with a bit of mucking around.
There is also a thread on 250 GTE's in the historic section of that site. A serial number geek has posted a list of the known 250 GTE's and it lists those that gave their lives for various replicas. I think there was about 90+ cars that have donated the chassis/drivetrain to replicas. That's a lot of bodies out there and I am sure any missing body parts would be easy to locate.
Drivetrain/chassis bits would be another story altogether.

Meeting women on the Internet? Remember, the more similarities u “magically” have, & the more she agrees with u, the fucking crazier she is.

issue with projects like that is .....................finding a "Shop" that will take on the project both cosmetic/mechanical.
Few of the shops are now gun shy................I know of several classics/for a better word. That are LUNGED in shops with
A.Owner unable to pay a large bill.
B.Workshop holding said car as security till debt is re-paided.All very unplesant for both parties.
Anyone have any idea where a "shop" stands ....can they sell said car to recover debt.................in the good old days they could, perhaps in todays cunsumer protected world NO?
or can they sell security if able to prove its a commercial transaction as opposed to consumer..............one for our lawyers posters?
