Jaguar Mark V 1949

An extensive no expense spared (over $50,000) bare metal restoration was done on this car approx 4 years ago.

Painted in Porsche GT silver and Standox $1,000/litre paint on the sides.

It is fitted with a fully rebuilt Lotus Esprit Turbo Engine, with forged pistons, new roller baring T3 turbo and high flow exhaust system.

It is very fast - similar speed to a Subaru WRX, is reliable and relatively good on fuel.

The height of the light weight engine sits lower than the height of the front tyres and is further back than the oringinal motor hence the car has very little body roll.

4 W disc brakes, limited slip differential, original ajustable torsion bar front suspension.

Interior leather has been redone to the highest quality.

Has custom built wheels on the front which have the same tyre height as original but wider.  The orginal hubcaps are fitted.

The rear of the car has been widend 8cm on each side.  This can be reversed if necessary.

The car looks like an original Mark V to someone who is not an expert.

It is a real head turner, elegant, sophisticated and FAST.

Beautiful looking car.
Anyone need a spare engine, buy the jag, drop a stock 350 Chev in it and keep the Lotus motor.

1949 Jaguar Mk 5 features:

Engine: - 1984 fully rebuilt Lotus Esprit Turbo. Forged pistons, new roller bearings turbo, high flow exhaust. Approx 300hp  - great on fuel.

Brakes: - 4

No engine bay pictures  :(

Do you pop the hood or the trunk to see it
