Quite a car no doubt, but a mighty price too.  $400K on road with usual options.

dunno

thats still 100k+ cheaper than an LP560.
having spent a lot of time in an R8 and a little time in the lambo, the Audi  is far more comfortable, offers almost, if not identical performance, has a much better support network (dealer) and from my eyes looks almost as good.  lacks exotica factor but its probably the best sports car in a metro city environment i have used.

I'll take a closer look, but I reckon the Lambo name alone is worth a large price difference.

I agree with all you say except for the looks bit.  The Audi is smart and stylish IMO but the Lambo is jawdropping.

ergonomically - r8 is a generation ahead
much easier for tall guys to drive
having said all of that, the lp560 was in my rearview mirror and it looked like a tornado bearing down on me.

It’s the fastest Audi every seen in Australia and also the most expensive, we’re talking about the Audi R8 V10 which officially went on sale in Australia today.

The bad news is that, even if you have the $351,000 to buy one, there’s little chance you will have the opportunity as Audi is reportedly only bring 10 into the country this year, and they’ve all been sold.

Audi R8 model range and pricing
Audi R8 4.2 FSI quattro manual $277,200
Audi R8 4.2 FSI quattro R tronic $293,100
Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro manual $351,000
Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro R tronic $366,900

I've heard all this "All sold out" BS before. When the R8 originally came out... it was all sold out. 2 year waiting list. Until you walk into a dealer and say I want one today, here is $20k deposit, but I want it TODAy. all of a sudden they have two out the back.

Same will happen with the R8 5.2

also, a dealer called me offering a new 4.2 R-tronic 800kms on teh clock back in Jan for $225k drive away. that's after the tax increase, etc etc. So I wouldn't go paying $400k for one. But that's just me... a gunna! :)
