Great writeup.

Did a second hand Ferrari 612 get a look in? Numbers wise they've dropped to comparitive dollars.
C'mon, do it!

I haven't liked Jags since they fell out of British hands, the tradition was a big part of the appeal to me.

No I didn't - many of the concerns I had with the Maserati apply there.    I actually prefer the XKR anyhow.  Having said that the 612 is certainly up my alley in terms of styling - yes.

That's fair enough - although that would mean by implication that you also dislike Aston for the same reasons?

Jags were a car that had their woodwork carved from the walls of a study in a Tudor castle and leaked oil everywhere, I think all that was lost

Never had a particular feeling for Astons though their present ownership seems more interesting than Ford.

Jags lost their way for a while but seem to be back with a bang, they had some recent sedan models that left me cold.

No doubt the XKR is a masterpiece.

Good Choice

Sounds like you are the type of buyer that Jaguar are keen to get into their new range of cars.

+1. Also doesn't have the 'old man' look IMO.
