Lotus Only Track Day
Wednesday August 1st 2012
Wakefield Park Raceway
bought to you by

Simply Sports Cars

Drive, Sprint, Race, Ride

Hi Guys,

This has actually been in the works for some time and has recently all come together so I can finally announce a track day with a difference exclusively for Lotus car owners. The day will combine a regular track day, a supersprint, rides in race cars and a complete race meeting into one action packed day.

Drive - The drive sessions will be untimed and aimed at people who would love to drive their car around a race track just for the fun of it.

Sprint - The sprint sessions will be a typical supersprint for those that like to race against the clock.

Race - Practise, Qualifying and 3 x 30 minutes races all in a single day will keep the racers busy and provide plenty of entertainment for everyone else.

Ride - A 1 hour ride session at lunch time for the race cars will provide a rare opportunity to get strapped into a Lotus racer for some hot laps

Thanks to the support of Simply Sports Cars entry fees have been kept as low as possible and I believe represents great value for such an action packed day. A drive entry will be $280, a sprint entry will be $295 and a race entry will be $350. Rides will be available for $75 for some hot laps in the race cars.

We will be releasing the schedule and some more details next week with a link to where you can purchase your entry. In the meantime fire away with your questions here but most importantly save the date.

Regards,

Mark

Some quick points to answer some of the questions that are coming:

- you will need a CAMS 2s or AASA licence to take part in the Drive and Sprint sessions. A 12 month AASA licence can be purchased on the day for $50.
- you will need a CAMS NC (circuit racing) licence or the equivalent AASA licence to compete in the racing category.
- you will need a roll cage to compete in the racing category.
- you will need a Lotus car to take part in the day. (A guess Porsche owners can come and watch)
- the day is scheduled to start at 8:30am and should be finished by 3:30pm to allow travellers from interstate to get on the road and be back at work on Thursday.

Might be tempted to come down for the track rides (if places are open to people not competing in the day).......

I'll check my schedule.

Do they have Lotus badges on them? Can you bring a Proton?

I had a Volvo 480 in the Uk. Suspension tweaked by Lotus....

Would that count?

Is there enough demand to support a Lotus only event?

From memory with Wakefield the track is setup on the side of an inclined hill, so you can easily see the whole track from the pits.

Certainly makes it a great spectator track compared to others.

you can see the whole track from pretty much anywhere around the track.

I have this day off already, might duck out for some pic taking, maybe get one of those rides
