I recently came across some plate details from the "The Great Plate Auction" of 1985. I believe this auction was one of the first mass releases by the SA Government of numeric, jubilee and classic name series. The sale consisted of 329 lots, being some 400+ plates and was conducted by Jackman & Treloar on the 10th of October 1985.

I have a copy for auction book and it is quite interesting to see what was released at this time. Here is a list of some of the plates that were up for sale with final prices ranging from $200 to $11,000:
