Interesting, I remember them doing a research project on the leaching of plastic into solutions under heat when I was at Uni a million years ago. The conclusion was that it did; but I don't recall the detail.

Same with some plastic water bottles, not sure if you should refill them or not.

Is there anything special about the plastic used to dunk the meats in?

I ask as I recall the angst over plastic chemicals leaching into the water from plastic water bottles - they were fine chilled, or at room temperature but not great when heated (most often when left in the car).

Not scaremongering, just asking....

The plastic bottles that have bisphenol a (BPA) polymers in it like all upside down delivered water cooler bottles and most water bottles bought in shops with a recycle triangle symbol #7 in it.

BPA is only a problem to your health when the bottle are heated and the BPA leaches out.

There are some dinks that you can buy that my sister won't let her kids drink due to the plastics used in the containers. Even some kids drinks.
Yes she works in the drink manufacturing business.
Mi don't know the details but was slightly scary.

I'd be more worried about the shit inside some of these containers to be honest.
