I guess its an aquired taste, kind of like old english style as well.

Personally I lean more to the contemporary, hower in reality for my $$$ i'd go this style, i'm surprised its not more popular in australia to be honest. its a style that's been around for many many years and still looks every bit as elegant today as it would have in the day it was considered contemporary
