If my only option to get somewhere is Jetstar I'm not going.

Me three!
I only use Quaintarse internally and juggle, depending mainly on timing, between them, Cathy and Malaysia going to China.
Part of the reason for the juggle is that my options out of Perth are crap, with Cathay the only one providing any sort of decent service :(

they don't go to Bali unfortunately

Even Garuda from Sydney is a quintrillion times better than Jetstar or Tiger.  I'd rather a 12 hour layover than 30 minutes on Tigstar.

For trips to Europe (3-4 a year lately), I head straight to the Qantas website and choose Emirates code share flights for every sector. The downside is award flights on this route are hard to find but the schedule is unbeatable so I don't care.

Little part of me misses jumping on a plane to China and having 8 hours to have quiet time.
Traveling with kids is a punish.

Travelling with kids is absolute insanity in my book. I describe family holidays as "Hell in a different and vastly more expensive location"

I used to always fly either Virgin or Qantas.  Try booking a return flight to Sydney on short notice.  Sorry mate, but I refuse to pay $700 to go to Sydney return.  It's a 1 hour flight.  If I book in advance will always go Virgin.  It's also why at one point I was just driving to Sydney and back.

For past 4 months have used Jetstar and I can't complain, plus I really like the new T4 at Melbourne, much better quality food options.  :)

The best thing about T4 is zero line no lineup for security.
The walk to the gate is a little far. If only they had a Qantas Club in T4.

Get rid of that V8 Bogan mobile and buy a Tesla. You can drive to Sydney for free on the Supercharger network, it is Solomon Finkelstein enabled  :D
